Its international development is ensured by the Executing Agency SAF EXPORTATEUR DE TALENTS which organizes the activities of the “Meilleur Ouvriers de France” through:

1.      SAF RECRUITMENT – A recruitment agency specialized in crafts and excellence, particularly for luxury hotels,
2.      SAF CONSULTING – which mobilizes its members for short consulting missions,
3.      SAF PROJECT – which brings together the “Meilleur Ouvriers de France” around exceptional projects,
4.      SAF TRAINING – which develops continuing training programs by city or country.

SAF was founded by Vincent LATAPIE, civil engineer and former UN staff, and Frédéric FAURE, “Meilleur Ouvriers de France” Landscape-gardener.

SERVICE A LA FRANCAISE (SAF) is an organization bringing together the most talented French professional artisans, the “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” and the World crafts Champions mobilizing them around the world.

Meilleurs Ouvriers de France

The title « Meilleur Ouvrier de France » is given to the best french craftsmen in their respective professions. It is a title of supreme excellence, given at the end of an extremely selective competition which is held every 4 years since 1924 and which brings together several tens of thousands of candidates. 240 professions are represented namely Chef de cuisine, Sommelier, Hairdresser, Landscape gardener, electrician or Tailor. This competition, with its highly desirable title, is open internationally and gives the right to university degree equivalence. Some famous Meilleur Ouvrier de France are, for exemple, Paul BOCUSE and Joël ROBUCHON, both titled « Meilleur Ouvrier de France » Chef.
